Biophilic Kitchen

Function: Residential
Year: 2024
Location: Urla, İzmir / Turkey
Area: 24 sq.m.

Kitchen of T.Y House holds cabinets made of solid wood and porcelain countertops resistant to high temperatures and pressure, the kitchen area is solved on a single wall.

The kitchen unit, supported by retro beige Smeg white goods and brass details, offers a simple and clean appearance.

In this kitchen where the biophilic design approach is adopted, the red flower pot, which also functions as the structural element of the working table, aims to create a focal point by creating a contrast with the green. The floating dining table in the space makes the space feel more spacious and allows it to be shaped according to the user's wishes.

The harmony of natural materials in the space; as well as different metals such as brass, stainless steel and iron; It is achieved through the use of fabrics such as leather, rattan and linen.

While flat surfaces are achieved thanks to recessed spot lighting, only a few lighting elements are highlighted.

Finally, Marcel Breuer's Cesca chair, produced by blending craftsmanship and industrial production, supports the natural but functional design of the space.
