Yoo'nek Coffee and Tea

The design of Yoo'nek Coffee & Tea is inspired by the traditional Japanese Tea House and prioritizes wabi-sabi principles through its spatial organization, design elements, and material choices. Craftmanship comes to light through timber elements that take hints from the interlocking techniques.

Roji is the garden path that invites guests into the tea ceremony area in the traditional Chashitsu, Japanese Tea House. Natural ground with grass growing from slate pavement, interlocking techniques of outdoor furnitures and thatch shading element are practiced to reflect brand's main inspiration, Japanese culture through its design features.

as in Chashitsu, linear arrangement of tea drinking area of the guests, faces the host preparing the tea. Seating layout provides a sense of ceremony, while soji windows with translucent white paper gives a sense of privacy for the guests and let them concentrate on the act of ‘drinking tea together’.
